All my life, I've loved it to draw, scribble and make stuff from things I could find laying around the house so the most obvious choice to go to art school, which I eventually did at the age of 17. After graduating high school, I went to college to follow graphic design and to learn a variety of other skills like drawing and photography. After that, I took a break from art and started a family. So I'm back on track again and I still love it to let my mind wander and to be influenced by millions of things, whether it is something inspired by friends, music or things I've seen in my everyday life. My passion for skulls is hard to explain. I don't know when started. It's probably just the sinister feeling it provokes that must have attracted me, and of course the shape of it. You'll have to admit that it's the loveliest part of the body, even with flesh and skin. Saskia Vandamme |
